Doctor Bio

I studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before completing my dental education at the University of Illinois Dental School in 1987. After practicing dentistry for nearly 30 years, I'm thrilled to have returned to the same neighborhood where I grew up, Chicago's North Side. I love the North Side because it's a small neighborhood in a big city, with friendly and diverse neighbors. I work hard on continuing education to ensure I'm caught up with how I can best serve my patients, and I keep the office up-to-date with the latest technologies, including digital radiography, digital intraoral cameras for diagnosis, electronic processing, and online appointments/messaging. I want the process to move smoothly and enjoyably for everyone, every step of the way.

Preventing Dental Emergencies

Good preventative care can prevent some dental emergencies and minimize the effects of others. Two of the most basic steps anyone can take to minimize their risk of experiencing a dental emergency are regular visits to the dentist and good daily dental hygiene. Visiting with your dentist at least twice per year for cleanings and examinations can help you catch serious dental issues before they worsen and potentially help you prevent some of the most common dental emergencies. Daily brushing and flossing preserve the health of your mouth, minimize the risk of gum disease and tooth decay, and make your teeth stronger and more resilient to physical injury.

If you live an active lifestyle, investing in a mouthguard is a good idea. This device could potentially prevent you from experiencing a severe dental injury by minimizing the impact of physical trauma. In some cases, a mouthguard can mean the difference between minor tooth damage requiring repair and serious tooth damage requiring extraction.
