In reality, there are many reasons someone might need to seek the services of an emergency dentist, and the severity of the pain isn't always indicative of the level of care required. We Are Here For Any and All Dental Emergencies

There's no need to worry about whether or not you've located the right type of dentist for your particular emergency. Coast Dental can provide fast, world class care for virtually any type of dental emergency. Coast Dental East Colonial's emergency dental services will get you relief fast, no matter your situation.

Commonly treated emergencies at Cost Dental East Colonial include:

  • Severe pain from a toothache: Tooth pain may be caused by a cavity, dental infection, or other problem. To treat, the dentist may need to remove the tooth, do a root canal, or install a dental implant. Coast Dental East Colonial will assess the situation efficiently and provide you with the best possible options for personalized treatment.
  • Swelling: This can be caused by a dental infection, trauma, or other problem. Treatment may include antibiotics, drainage of the swelling, or surgery.
  • Lost tooth: If you lose a tooth, you will want to see a dentist as soon as possible to explore your options for repairing the damage and replacing the missing tooth.
  • Broken tooth: If you break a tooth, rinse the area with clean water and put a cold compress on it to reduce swelling. Then call (855) 867-3691 to make an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible.
  • Dislodged tooth: If a tooth becomes dislodged, hold it in place by gently biting on a piece of gauze or cloth. Rinse the area with water and see a dentist as soon as you are able.
  • Injury to the mouth: May include cuts, bruises, and other injuries to your gums or other areas of the mouth. Again, rinse the injury with clean water and put a cold compress on it to reduce swelling. See a dentist as soon as possible.
  • Infection of the gums: If your gums are red, swollen, and/or bleeding, then you may have an infection. Treatments range from prescribing antibiotics to performing a root canal.
  • Abscessed tooth: An abscess is a pus-filled pocket that forms on the gums or in the bone. It will need to be drained by the dentist and may require antibiotics or surgery.
  • Pain when eating: This may be a sign of an infection, cavities, or other serious issue. The dentist will need to do an examination to determine the cause and treatment.
  • Denture-related issues: These can include a broken denture, lost denture, or denture that doesn't fit properly. The dentist may need to adjust your dentures or order new ones.

If you're experiencing sudden oral pain, then the first thing you should do is call Coast Dental East Colonial. Our dedicated customer care team at (855) 867-3691 will help you assess the situation and provide high-quality, immediate care.

You Can Prevent These Dental Emergencies

While dental emergencies can happen to anyone, there are some things you can do to help prevent them:

  • Take the time to brush your teeth properly. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with quality toothpaste. This will help remove plaque and bacteria, which can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Floss every day. Flossing can help remove plaque and bacteria from in between your teeth and gums where your toothbrush doesn't always reach. This can also help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Visit Coast Dental East Colonial every six months. A routine dental exam and cleaning can help detect and treat problems before they become emergencies.
  • Take care of your dentures. If you wear dentures, make sure to clean them every day and replace them when they become worn.
  • Use oral protective gear for physical activity. When participating in contact sports or activities that may cause oral injuries, use a mouthguard, helmet with a face mask, or other protective gear.
  • Maintain a healthy diet. Eating a healthy diet can help keep your teeth and gums healthy, while unhealthy foods can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Stay well hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep your mouth lubricated, clean, and healthy.
  • Take your vitamins. Some vitamins, such as vitamins C and D, are key to keeping your mouth healthy.

If you follow these tips, you can help reduce your chances of experiencing a dental emergency. However, accidents do happen, so it's always important to know where to turn.
